Te Rau Mōhio Trip tomorrow
3 Dec 2025

Kia ora e te whānau of Te Rau Mōhio, Mrs Calman's class,

Tomorrow, we are taking a short trip to Virginia Lake. This is to look at our space on the stage where we will be performing on Saturday at Carols by Candlelight.

Please ensure your child has suitable footwear and their school uniform, including a jersey. A jacket would also be suitable.

We will travel by van with Uncle Al and in Mrs Topia's car.

Carols by Candlelight
Kia ora koutou,
This notice will come home today with the oldest in the family. If you have already confirmed your child is available, you do not need to reply or return the notice.
Upokongaro School has been invited to open Carols by Candlelight this year with karakia and waiata. This is a huge honour!
We would love as many tamariki as we can to attend this event. We open at 7pm with karakia. Our singing bracket is 7.02pm-7.15pm. Our tamariki will need to be there by 6.30pm in their school uniform. We will meet by the café at Rotokawau/Virginia Lake. We will be singing 3 waiata which we have been practising at kura.
This event is huge in Whanganui, with a wide range of wonderful singers. I’ve heard there are many amazing food stalls also. The event closes at 9.15pm, but please stay as long as you like.
Please let me know if your child/children are available. Once children have finished singing, they are the parent’s responsibility.
Ngā mihi maioha
