Ballot entries for 2027 are now open until the 12th of October 2026. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday the 16th of October 2026. You can apply for your child/children to attend Upokongaro School by completing the online enrolments via this link: Online Enrolment Application or by filling in an enrolment at our school office.

Dear Parents and Whānau,
Preparations are officially underway for our upcoming November School Gala, and we are so excited to bring our community together for a fantastic day!
Events like this rely heavily on the support of local sponsors to help cover costs and maximize what we can raise for our students. We completely understand that times are tough for many businesses right now, so any level of support—big or small—makes a huge difference.
How you can help: We’ve attached our Gala Sponsorship Form to this post. If you, your employer, or anyone in your wider network of family and friends might be interested in supporting our school, we would be incredibly grateful if you could share this form with them.
If you would prefer a hard copy of the sponsorship letter and form to hand out directly, please send me a quick message or email, and I will happily send one home with your child.

This Friday from 1.20-2.40pm we are having our Upokongaro School disco and it's going to be a blast. The cost is $10 a ticket and we are fundraising for Wig Wednesday (but on a Friday) and the senior camp this year. We hope everyone can come.
Athletics Whanganui - Junior Season 2026/2027
Junior Athletics season begins soon at Cooks Gardens. At present, Athletics is available for all children 7 years old and over.
Athletics Whanganui will run Junior Sessions on Tuesdays between 5.00 - 6.00pm.
The season runs:
Term 4 2026 - Oct 20 to Dec 8
Term 1 2027 - Feb 9 to March 16
